BIG TABLE

Big Table exists to see the lives of those working in the restaurant and hospitality industry transformed by building community around shared meals and caring for those who are in crisis, transition, or falling through the cracks. This community and care are open to all in the industry without condition.

BLOOD:WATER

Blood:Water is an equipping agency that partners with African grassroots organizations to address the water and HIV/AIDS crises. We do this by identifying Africa’s hidden heroes and coming alongside their vision for change. We provide technical, financial, and organizational support so that African civil society organizations have expanded reach and effectiveness in the communities they serve.  The Praxis High School students of FPC support Blood:Water through their donations and fundraisers.

CAMP SPALDING

Camp Spalding and Clearwater Lodge is committed to providing meaningful Christian programming in an exceptional natural environment, where, away from their daily routine, people of all ages may encounter Jesus Christ and experience greater spiritual depth and renewal.  Located on 500 wooded, lakeside acres at the foot of the Selkirk Mountain Range in NE Washington, Camp Spalding offers an outstanding natural environment for Christian summer camps, weekend conferences, and mid-week retreats.

CHRIST KITCHEN

Christ Kitchen is a job-training project providing work, instruction, discipleship, support, and fellowship for women living in poverty in the Spokane area. Through the production and sales of gourmet dried food products and catered meals, this project enables women to learn to work, to become employable and, eventually, to support themselves and their families without reliance on government programs or destructive relationships.

THE CITY GATE

The City Gate is an organization that is first and foremost a church with the purpose of reclaiming, rebuilding and restoring lost and broken lives. We begin this mission by providing a “gathering place” at our downtown location that’s open to the public with no limitation of persons.  From the homeless to low-income families, youth on the streets to those who are addicts, from the mentally ill to the outcast, The City Gate provides a place of refuge from the streets in a safe and family like atmosphere.

ITAPAGIPE CHURCH

FPC established a relationship with the Itapagipe United Presbyterian Church in 1992 with our primary support contributing to their community center (AEPPI).  AEPPI provides courses in music, cooking, handicrafts and computing which creates opportunities for sharing of the gospel.

 JEMS has been blessed of God to expand and include many faceted ministries that span the globe today. By the nature of its multi-faceted ministry and outreach into the world which is becoming increasingly multi and inter-racial, JEMS ministries serves Japanese and Japanese American and other Asian Americans.  FPC directly supports the ministry of Michael and Chris Mason in the Kansai area of Japan.

Liberty Park Community Development Center is a neighborhood hub that connects people of all ages to opportunities for spiritual, educational, and social growth. To sustain the independence of those we serve by providing services and activities regarding nutrition, advocacy, education and recreation through the Meals on Wheels Spokane program and the Mid-City Concerns Senior Center.

Mission Community Outreach Center provides free clothing bank services, baby care items and personal hygiene items to low income families in Spokane.

ORPHANAGE AT PRACHAKITTISUK

Under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Sirirat Pusurinkham, Prachakittisuk Church near Chiang Rai, Thailand, has established an orphanage and women's project.  They welcome orphans for who both parents died from HIV/AIDS to the church’s orphanage and ensure food, shelter, clothing, uniforms for school, school supplies, tutors.  The women's project provides training in sewing traditional Thai crafts and an avenue for the women to sell the goods they create.

PCUSA, our denomination, has many ways to contribute to the mission of the church nationally and internationally. FPC supports the PCUSA with two special offerings annually, the One Great Hour of Sharing and Christmas Joy Offerings. We also support Presbyterian Disaster Assistance when critical needs arise and have supported PCUSA mission workers in the past.

ROOSEVELT ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

FPC partners with Roosevelt Elementary, our neighborhood school, as an outreach to our Lower South Hill neighbors.  Through mentoring, English language learning support, support for the Bite2Go food program, staff encouragement and an annual before school-year work event, we seek to share the love of Christ with the students,families and staff of Roosevelt.

SISTER MARY'S CHILDREN

We provide aid through grassroots fundraising to support the ongoing work done at our three partnering projects in Mthatha, South Africa.  These projects provide residential support for orphaned, abandoned, abused and neglected children and teens and include a facility to support young adults with physical and/or mental disabilities. By providing funding to established organizations on the ground, Sister Mary's Children is able to effectively support key projects and initiatives crucial to the continued success of these programs.

World Gospel Mission partners with individuals and churches worldwide to make disciples of Christ and encourage believers to become missions-active through ministries that reach the whole person—physically and spiritually—transforming communities.  FPC supports the work of Steve and Alene Burgert in Kenya in their medical and prison ministries.

World Relief Spokane currently provides refugee resettlement assistance, employment services, micro-enterprise loans, immigration services and works to raise awareness and serve victims of human trafficking.  World Relief seeks to empower the local Church to serve these most vulnerable.

WORLD VISION

World Vision is an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in working with the poor and oppressed to promote human transformation, seek justice, and bear witness to the good news of the Kingdom of God.  The majority of financial support and advocacy for World Vision at FPC is led by our middle school students through participation in World Vision's Thirty Hour Famine.

For more than 70 years, Wycliffe has helped people around the world translate the Bible into their own languages. We also help with language development, literacy and other spiritual and physical needs.  FPC supports the Wycliffe workers Joan Spanne (information systems infrastructure) and Mark and Rachel Miller (Malaysia).
